Abstract

Zusammenfassung In der Literatur sowie in Unternehmen kursieren die unterschiedlichsten Bezeichnungen für das, was hier Projektmanagement-Office (PMO) genannt wird. Bei näherer Betrachtung sieht man, dass sich diese organisatorischen Einheiten hinsichtlich ihrer Ausprägungen, Funktionen und Aufgaben oft decken oder zumindest ähnlich sind. Andererseits können trotz gleicher Namensgebung gravierende Unterschiede in der Interpretation des Begriffs Projektmanagement-Office bestehen. In diesem Kapitel sollen einige Definitionen aus der Projektmanagement-Literatur vorgestellt werden, die zeigen, wie ähnlich, aber auch wie unterschiedlich die Begriffe und Definitionen sein können. Zudem wird kurz darauf eingegangen, was in diesem Buch mit PMO gemeint ist. Ebenso werden 10 gute Argumente, ein PMO in einem Unternehmen einführen bzw. betreiben zu wollen, beschrieben. Schließlich wenden wir uns den Vorbereitungen einer PMO-Einführung zu.
