Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Einführung ordnet das Thema Nachhaltigkeit in seiner Bedeutung für Kommunen mit Fokus Wirtschaft kurz ein und betont dabei die Sinnhaftigkeit eines gezielten (integrativen) Nachhaltigkeitsmanagements. Im Rahmen der dann folgenden Einordnung der Beiträge wird zum einen die Buchstruktur erläutert, aber zugleich auch durch die Vielfalt der Beiträge für den Facettenreichtum des Nachhaltigkeitsspektrums allein schon auf kommunaler Ebene mit besonderem Fokus auf die Schnittstelle Kommune-Wirtschaft sensibilisiert. Dieses breite Facettenspektrum bietet vielfältige Optionen, Nachhaltigkeit in den Kommunen vor dem Hintergrund ihrer speziellen Rahmenbedingungen insbesondere finanzieller, struktureller und räumlich-geografischer Art zu gestalten. „Die“ kommunale Nachhaltigkeit und „das“ kommunale Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement im Sinne einer „Blaupause“ kann und soll es damit nicht geben. Vielmehr existieren verschiedene kommunale Nachhaltigkeitskonzepte mit wesensspezifischen Eigenarten und kreativen Ausgestaltungsspielräumen.
