Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Digitalisierung ist bereits seit langer Zeit Thema in der Industrie, gerade in Österreich und Deutschland hinkte die Entwicklung jedoch in vielen Punkten hinterher. Mit der Coronakrise folgte allerdings ein Entwicklungssprung in Sachen Digitalisierung, der ganze Geschäftsmodelle revolutionierte. Die Chancen hieraus auch für die Zukunft zu ergreifen ist das Gebot, um die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Unternehmen langfristig zu sichern. Besondere Relevanz für die europäische Industrie nimmt das Zusammenspiel zwischen Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit ein. Beide Themenfelder sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden und die Fundamente für eine weiterführende Transformation der gesamten Wirtschaftsordnung. Dies betrifft Handlungsbereiche wie die Neukonfiguration von Lieferketten und die Neugestaltung einer digitalen Arbeitswelt. Welche Fragen hierfür zu adressieren sind, wird im vorliegenden Beitrag umrissen.
