Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel setzt sich kritisch mit gängigen Ansichten und Theorien rund um das Thema Führung auseinander. Dabei basieren Aussagen und Modelle zu „guter Führung“ immer auf Grundannahmen, die man kritisch hinterfragen sollte. Eigenschaftstheoretische Ansätze sehen beispielsweise in den Eigenschaften und Kompetenzen einer Führungskraft den wesentlichen Faktor für Führungserfolg, während verhaltenstheoretische Führungsmodelle beschreiben, was gute, erfolgreiche Führungskräfte tun. Situative bzw. kontingenztheoretische Ansätze verbinden hingegen richtiges Verhalten mit bestimmten Situationen. Insgesamt ist festzustellen, dass bekannte Führungsmodelle der Komplexität der Führungsrealität kaum gerecht werden. Sie sind zu idealisiert, fokussieren auf die Führungskraft und nicht auf die Führungsbeziehung, ignorieren die Führungsumwelt, sind zu statisch und erheben einen unzulässigen Allgemeingültigkeitsanspruch.
