Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die internationale Nachhaltigkeitsdiskussion hat mittlerweile eine mehr als 50-jährige Geschichte und gewinnt weiter an Bedeutung. Ursprünglich auf Gewinnmaximierung ausgerichtet, erkannten Unternehmen die Bedeutung der Schaffung gemeinsamer Werte für Mitarbeitende und die Gesellschaft. Dies führte zur Entwicklung des Konzepts der CSR (corporate social responsibility). Aktuell dient die ESG-Struktur (Environment, Social, Governance) als Grundlage für die Auf- und Umsetzung von Nachhaltigkeitsstrategien. Der Finanzsektor und Ratingagenturen spielen eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Förderung nachhaltiger Investitionen und der Bewertung von Unternehmen hinsichtlich ihrer Nachhaltigkeitspraktiken. Die Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung von Unternehmen basiert auf ihrem Beitrag zu Nachhaltigkeitszielen und ihrem Risikoprofil in Bezug auf Umwelt und Gesellschaft.
