Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Schlagwort der Agilität hat im Kontext von sich immer schneller verändernden Gegebenheiten und Rahmenbedingungen, etwa begleitend zu Flüchtlingsbewegungen, im Kontext der Corona-Pandemie oder aktuell der Energiekrise, einen neuen Stellenwert im hochschulpolitischen Diskurs erhalten. So werden beispielsweise im Positionspapier des Wissenschaftsrats zur Weiterentwicklung des Wissenschaftssystems von 2021 eine verstärkte Agilität von Strukturen und Prozessen im deutschen Hochschulsystem gefordert, um Resilienz und Zukunftsfähigkeit zu gewährleisten. Das Konzept von Agilität geht davon aus, dass in einer sogenannten „VUCA-Welt“, die sich durch Volatilität, Unsicherheit, Komplexität und Mehrdeutigkeit (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) auszeichnet, eine ständige Veränderungs- und Anpassungsnotwendigkeit besteht, die mit herkömmlichen Arbeitsmethoden nur schwer erreicht werden kann.
