Abstract

Zusammenfassung Am 7. März 2013 trug Schawarsch Karampetjan die olympische Fackel auf dem Weg nach Sotschi, wo das Feuer im Februar 2014 entflammt werden sollte und letztlich auch wurde. Prompt ging ihm die Fackel aus, weil ein Ventil der Gasfackel defekt war. Sofort wurde in diversen Blogs kommentiert, dass es sich um ein „schlechtes OmenOmen“ für den Verlauf der Spiele handeln würde, und zahlreiche Tageszeitungen und Nachrichtenagenturen griffen dies auf: Das Erlöschen des olympischen Feuers sei ein schlechtes Vorzeichen, die olympischen Winterspiele stünden unter einem „schlechten Stern“.
