Abstract

Zusammenfassung Blockchain-Innovationen wie digitale Fan Token und Non-fungible Token (NFTs) haben in der Sportbranche einerseits große Aufmerksamkeit erfahren, andererseits hat die Branche auch Mühe mit dem Tempo der Digitalisierung Schritt zu halten. Um das Potenzial von Blockchain zu realisieren, müssen Wissenschaft und Praxis ein besseres Verständnis dieser digitalen Datenbanktechnologie erlangen. Ziel dieser Studie besteht darin, das theoretische Verständnis von Blockchain im Sportsektor zu verbessern. Hierzu identifizieren, konsolidieren und klassifizieren wir Blockchain-Anwendungsfälle im Sport mithilfe einer systematischen Analyse der bisher veröffentlichten wissenschaftlichen Literatur. Darüber hinaus identifizieren wir verschiedene Möglichkeiten für Stakeholder im Sportsektor, wie sie von der Blockchain-Technologie profitieren können. Zudem identifizieren wir auf Grundlage unserer Untersuchung zukünftige Forschungsmöglichkeiten, die für Wissenschaft und Praxis von besonderer Wichtigkeit erscheinen.
