Abstract

Zusammenfassung Am 19. Mai 2018 stirbt der Zürcher Obdachlosenpfarrer Ernst Sieber (vgl. Abb. 4.1 und 4.2) im Alter von 91 Jahren. Rund tausend Menschen folgten der Einladung der Familie Sieber am 27. Mai ins Zürcher Großmünster zum Trauergottesdienst. Rund 3000 Menschen fanden sich am 2. Juni auf dem Zürcher Platzspitz zu einer Abschieds- und Erinnerungsfeier ein, die vom Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber gemeinsam mit dem Präsidialdepartement der Stadt Zürich organisiert wurde. Weggefährten des Pfarrers, Schutzbefohlene, Hilfesuchende, Politikerinnen und Musiker erinnerten sich an diesem Ort, der in den 1980er Jahren für Tausende Süchtige zur Hölle auf Erden wurde, an den charismatischen, umtriebigen und in seinen Aktionen kompromisslosen Mann, der die Ärmsten seiner Zeit als seine Freunde bezeichnet und der mit seinen Gründungen und seinem politischen und medialen Wirken wesentlich Einfluss auf die Zürcher Sozial- und die landesweite Drogenpolitik der letzten 50 Jahre genommen hatte.
