ESG in der Unternehmensbewertung

Abstract

Zusammenfassung ESG ist inzwischen zu einem omnipräsenten Faktor für Gesellschaft, Unternehmen und Finanzmarkt geworden. Investoren richten ihre Strategien immer weiter auf ESG aus, womit auch für Unternehmen der Druck zunimmt, sich stärker mit ESG zu beschäftigen und entsprechende Maßnahmen umzusetzen. Dies hat nicht nur einen positiven Einfluss auf die Unternehmensreputation, sondern – wie Studienergebnisse zeigen – ebenfalls eine positive Wirkung auf die finanzielle Performance und mithin auch den Wert eines Unternehmens. Der Zusammenhang von ESG und Unternehmenswert lässt sich mit der Wirkung von ESG im DCF-Modell und damit auf den Cashflow des Unternehmens, auf den Umgang mit Risiken sowie auf die Kapitalkosten begründen. Dieser Erklärungsansatz ermöglicht es zudem, den Unternehmenswertbeitrag von einzelnen ESG-Maßnahmen zu quantifizieren und so verschiedene Zielebenen der Unternehmenssteuerung miteinander zu vereinen.
