Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Digitalisierung verändert die Produktionsprozesse von Reiseanbietern nachhaltig durch Automatisierung in Form von Algorithmen der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI). Im Flug-Einzelplatz-Geschäft von Reiseveranstaltern wird heute auf Basis von zahlreichen historischen Daten aus Buchungen sowie dem aktuellen Such, Klick- und Userverhalten von Kunden ein passgenaues Angebot nach Nutzerstruktur für die jeweilige Reisesuche ausgespielt. Dabei optimiert die Technologie auf Basis von Machine Learning die Lösungsfindung. Was auf der Produktionsseite sinnvoll und legitim scheint, ist in der Kundenwahrnehmung und bei staatlichen Instanzen nicht immer nachvollziehbar. So ist im Streit um möglicherweise überhöhte Ticketpreise der Lufthansa nach der Insolvenz von Air Berlin 2018 das Bundeskartellamt eingeschritten. Dieses und andere Beispiele zeigen, dass eine Vollautomatisierung nicht immer zielführend ist und touristische Unternehmen gut beraten sind, eine angemessene Produktsteuerung durch voll- und teilautomatisierte sowie manuelle Prozesse zu verfolgen. Im Rahmen dieses Beitrags wird daher der Frage nachgegangen, was die Limitierungen von vollautomatisierten Algorithmen im Flug-Einzelplatz-Pricing sein können.
