Abstract

Zusammenfassung In dem Beitrag werden die theoretischen Grundlagen, die Inhalte und der methodische Ansatz der vom BMI geförderten Studie MEGAVOMEGAVO beschrieben. Die Studie untersucht Faktoren und Motive, die Menschen dazu veranlassen, den Beruf eines Polizeibeamten zu wählen. Es geht aber auch um Einstellungen und Werteorientierung. Daneben wird der Berufsalltag von Polizeibeamt*innen im Vordergrund stehen, um zu eruieren, welche positiven Aspekte die Berufswahl bestärken und motivieren und welchen Belastungen sie ausgesetzt sind. Eng damit zusammen hängt die Untersuchung der negativen Erfahrungen von Polizeibeamt*innen in Bezug auf kritische und eskalierende Situationen.
