Abstract

Zusammenfassung Polizeimanagement ist der laufende, geplante und kontrollierbare Versuch, die Prozesse polizeilichen (Amts-)Handelns und damit die Entwicklung der Organisation Polizei so zu gestalten, dass ihre Ziele laufend – wenn möglich proaktiv und innovativ – den Anforderungen des Umfelds und seiner Stakeholder angepasst und bestmöglich erreicht werden. Wir verstehen Polizeimanagement als Steuerung der Aufgaben in der Polizeiorganisation zur Erzielung einer optimalen Wirkung hinsichtlich der öffentlichen Sicherheit. Dabei sehen wir als Herausgeber die Institution Polizei nicht nur aus juristischer Sicht als Behörde, sondern auch aus betriebswirtschaftlicher Sicht als öffentliches Dienstleistungsunternehmen, das den Rechtsstaat schützen und weiterhin effektiv im Interesse von Schutz und Sicherheit seiner Bürgerinnen und Bürger agieren soll.
