Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Beitrag sieht die erfolgskritische Bedeutung von Führungsethik bzw. Moral Leadership in der Polizei in der Herstellung von Legitimität. Sie ist für die Kooperation innerhalb der Polizei, aber auch für die zwischen Polizei und Gesellschaft unerlässlich. Diese Funktion kann Moral Leadership nur dann erfolgreich übernehmen, wenn sie als Selbstzweck verfolgt wird. Daraus resultieren besondere tugendethische und organisationsethische Herausforderungen, die je für sich und in ihrem Zusammenspiel sowie in ihren Wirkungen betrachtet werden. Als entscheidender Punkt wird dargestellt, dass Moral LeadershipMoralMoral Leadership weder auf eine besondere Ethik, noch eine außergewöhnliche Moralität des bzw. der Führenden angewiesen ist. Vielmehr stellt sie einen spezifischen Leistungswert und eine auf ihn ausgerichtete Kompetenz dar, die um ihrer Wirksamkeit willen auf das Zusammenspiel kommunikativer, kooperativer und moralischer Fähigkeiten konstitutiv angewiesen ist.
