Abstract

Zusammenfassung Alle natürlich ablaufenden Prozesse erfordern eine Änderung in der Qualität der Energie, die den Ablauf dieser Prozesse ermöglicht. Energie von hoher Qualität wird in solchen Prozessen irreversibel in Energie niedriger Qualität umgewandelt. Um solche qualitativen Energieänderungen zu analysieren, wird üblicherweise das System, in dem eine Energieumwandlung vorgeht, sorgfältig in Raum und Zeit definiert. Die Thermodynamik ist die wissenschaftliche Disziplin, die sich mit Änderungen in der Menge und Qualität der Energie innerhalb eines festgelegten Systems befasst. Die folgenden Abschnitte dieses Kapitels beschreiben Grundbausteine einer thermodynamischen Analyse und deren Relevanz für die Evolutorische Okonomik.
