Abstract

Zusammenfassung Obwohl die Anlässe zur Bewertung eines Start-ups vielfältig sein können, werden sowohl Gründer als auch Investoren mit der Wahl der richtigen Bewertungsmethoden zumeist das erste Mal im Rahmen einer Finanzierungsrunde konfrontiert. In Literatur und Praxis haben sich daher über die Jahre eine Reihe von Bewertungsmethoden für Transaktionen im Venture Capital-Umfeld durchgesetzt, welche jedoch in ihrer ursprünglichen Form bei der Bewertung von Start-ups kaum Anwendung finden. Denn im Unterschied zu etablierten Unternehmen fehlt es bei Start-ups beispielsweise an grundlegenden Bewertungskriterien, welche sich aus einer langfristig bestehenden Unternehmenshistorie ergeben könnten. Dieses Kapitel behandelt eine Auswahl an grundlegenden Bewertungsansätzen sowie deren spezifische Anpassungsmöglichkeiten bei der Bewertung von Start-ups.
