Abstract

Explain to people why you do something, and they will listen to you and understand you better: “always start with the why”—according to the now legendary motto of Simon Sinek (2011). Based on our Why, we’ll show you the thrust of the book and provide information about who the book is intended for and who might be able to put it down again. For those who are not familiar with the term “hack”, here is a short explanation: A hack is probably best translated with the German term Kniff. Lifehack is the term used to describe so-called life tricks, i.e. tips and tricks that can make life easier and better. For example, it is much easier to open the jar of Granny’s delicious jam if you place a knife between the lid and the jar and use leverage to release the vacuum with a “plop”. Or simply tying a double knot so that the shoelace of the running shoe does not come undone after a few metres. So New Work Hacks are tips and tricks that support modern and new ways of working, improve communication, learning and reflection, and are simply practical and even fun at the end of the day.
