Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die weiter fortschreitende Internationalisierung führt zu einer zunehmenden Verflechtung deutscher Unternehmen mit Unternehmen in unterschiedlichen Ländern und zu einer Vielzahl von Kontakten mit Mitarbeitern aus anderen (Landes-)Kulturen. Für die Planung, Koordination, Kontrolle und Steuerung internationaler Geschäftsbeziehungen und insbesondere von (Auslands-)Beteiligungen werden Controller eingesetzt. Eine differenzierte Betrachtung der Auswirkung von (Landes-)Kulturunterschieden auf die Aufgaben und Wirksamkeit des Controllings liegt nicht vor. Ziele dieses Beitrages sind praxistaugliche Instrumente für die kulturelle Sensibilisierung von Controllern bereitzustellen und Handlungsempfehlungen für eine zielgerichtete Förderung der interkulturellen Kompetenz von Controllern und Unternehmen zu geben.
