Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die gesamte relevante Literatur zu den zentralen Themen Kommunalwirtschaft und Daseinsvorsorge beginnt historisch mit der Darstellung von Prozessen im frühen 19. Jahrhundert. Als wichtige Vorgänge, die den Beginn kommunaler Daseinsvorsorge markieren, wird beispielsweise die Errichtung von Anlagen zur Stadtbeleuchtung beschrieben. 1824 bot die Continental Gas Association London der Stadt Dresden an, die Stadtbeleuchtung auf Gas-Basis zu übernehmen. Dieses Angebot lehnten die Kommunalvertreter mit dem Argument ab, dass man diese Aufgabe selbst erledigen könne und so der Gewinn in Dresden bliebe.
