Abstract

Zusammenfassung Organisationale Führung hat keinen guten Ruf. „Führungskräfte-Bashing auf dem Höhepunkt“ heißt es im Editorial einer Personalzeitschrift (Pichler 2012a); dort wird verwiesen u.a. auf die Bildzeitungs-Schlagzeile „Ist Ihr Chef ein Idiot?“, die Stern-Titelgeschichte „Irrsinn Büro“ und den unsäglichen Bestseller „Ich arbeite in einem Irrenhaus“. Letztlich reicht es aber aus, mit offenen Ohren den öffentlichen Nahverkehr zu nutzen oder sich mit Mitarbeitern verschiedener Organisationen zu unterhalten, um zu erkennen, dass beim Thema Führung etwas im Argen liegt. In jedem Falle besteht eine gewisse Diskrepanz zwischen der allenthalben – insbesondere in der Managementliteratur – anzutreffenden (Selbst-) Beweihräucherung der Manager-Zunft und den erschreckend kritischen Einschätzungen, die viele Mitarbeiter mit schöner Regelmäßigkeit in Befragungen aller Art zum Ausdruck bringen. Sicher gibt es auch kompetente Führungskräfte und gute Führung, allen gegenteiligen Bemühungen zum Trotz aber ganz offenbar auch sehr große Führungsmängel.
