Abstract

Reducing the environmental footprint of concrete is of vital importance for the construction industry to achieve sustainability. Some researchers were currently concerned with how a concrete structure might be designed to be green and sustainable. Due to the importance of global climate change and greenhouse gases, the term “CO2 emissions” was often used as one indicator to highlight whether or not the product was environmentally sustainable. Many environmental labelling programmes have been initiated to include CO2 emissions as an important consideration, such as the UK Ecopoints and Blue Angle.
