Abstract

The ammunition supply chain is designed to provide responsive ammunition support to deployed forces anywhere in the world. The unique characteristics of ammunition can complicate the supply chain. This paper summarizes technological advantages and limitations of RFID, analyzes status of ammunition supply chain management and gives benefits and problems from RFID. RFID-based system design is given, which includes how to use RFID tag, how to use RFID reader, how to access central database, and so on. The RFID-based system can assure the synchronization of goods flow and information flow. It also helps to improve asset tracking.
