„War for Talent“ — Bedeutung und Ausrichtung des Talentmanagements

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Talentmanagement schien Ende der 90er Jahre dank der New Economy in eine neue Blütezeit einzutreten. Unternehmen sahen zwar schon vorher die Notwendigkeit, hoch qualifizierte und begabte Mitarbeiter zu gewinnen, zu fördern und zu halten. Doch nun rückte angesichts einer vermeintlich dünnen Personaldecke das Thema ins Zentrum der Aufmerksamkeit: Das Topmanagement sah im Talentmanagement seine vielleicht wichtigste Aufgabe, und ein exzellentes Personalmanagement galt als entscheidender Erfolgsfaktor. Drei McKinsey-Berater haben diese Entwicklung mit dem Begriff „War for Talent“, dem Kampf um Talente, auf den Punkt gebracht.1
