Abstract

Zusammenfassung Was sind die Gründe für den Erfolg von Unternehmen wie SAP, LVMH, Coca-Cola, Genentech oder der viel zitierten General Electric? Aus heutiger Sicht nehmen diese Firmen dominierende Weltmarktpositionen in ihren Geschäften ein. Das war jedoch nicht immer so — selbst wenn, wie im Falle von Coca-Cola, der Erfolg schon sehr früh begründet wurde. Ein Blick in die Bilanz lässt erkennen: Diese Unternehmen verfügen nicht über überproportional großes Vermögen und das, was sie bereits früher in ihrer Erfolgsgeschichte auszeichnete, ist zwar im Nachhinein benennbar, war aber zum damaligen Zeitpunkt nur wenig fassbar. Die strategische Plattform dieser Unternehmen ist immaterielles Kapital.
