Abstract

Nonprofits often grapple with daunting challenges, ranging from budget cuts and resource scarcity to political instability, which could endanger their very existence. This chapter, however, posits that by tactically adopting the latest technologies, NPOs can ensure their survivability and even flourish despite the escalating hurdles. The advent of Industry 4.0, marked by widespread digitalization, has ignited a transformative shift across all organizational terrains. In this context, digital transformation has emerged as an essential evolution for entities of all kinds (Lee et al. 2019). Hence, to maintain their effectiveness, nonprofits must embrace digital transformation and digitalization strategies (Ko and Liu 2021). In the following sections, it is shown that NPOs must align the assimilation of technological advancements with their distinct missions, characteristics, needs, and limitations.
