Abstract

The chapter briefly discusses two issues: (a) what should be expected from the evolutionary (more precisely, co-evolutionary) approach to financial market functioning; and (b) what is the general framework of decision-making in the co-evolutive (either binomial or trinomial) model of financial market functioning. Concerning the first issue, seven epistemological perspectives are examined: principles, limits, predictability, truth, explanation, testability, and probability; and, concerning the second issue, four instances of interest in the matter of the co-evolutive model of the financial market are convoked, with each establishing the coordinates of the decision-making process—the investor, the government, the analyst, and the (general) public.
