Abstract

Purpose: This paper demonstrates quantitative evidence for estimating the optimal contribution of life table and health insurance towards sustainable industrialization and innovation in Nigeria. In achieving the objectives, the study developed a period life table and derives the values for age distribution. The Malthus theory was tested for support or decline on sustainable industrialization and innovation. Design/Methodology/Approach: A stratified sampling was used. Nigeria population data of 95,000,000, death rate of 18.55% (as at 1990) and life expectancy growth rate of 0.06% were used to compute a period life table. The data were analyse with ARDL and Cobb Douglas Production Function model. Findings: The results of the study shows that health insurance reverse the inverse relationship that exist between age distribution and sustainable industrialization and innovation. Research Limitation/Implications: The age’s distribution values are derived from a periodic life table based on assumptions. Practical Implication: The quantitative analysis in this study would avail information to professionals in health insurance that persons of a specified age are potent variable for attainment of sustainable industrialization and innovation. Social Implication: The ability of the researchers to integrates, life table, health insurance and sustainable industrialization and innovation demonstrates knowledge policy makers to review health insurance policy, give attention to an applied life table as a medium to developed sustainable industrialization and innovation. Originality/Value: The uniqueness of study lies in the mathematical models and variables used. Life table, health insurance and the Cobb Douglas was first integrated by the researchers to examine sustainable industrialization and innovation.
