Green Bonds in the System of International Environmental Financing of Industry 4.0 Projects

Abstract

The article identifies the main factors in the development of new international systems for financing environmental projects and programs, which, first of all, include the aggravation of the problem of environmental pollution and emphasizes the importance of developing environmentally friendly technologies and industries in the context of Industry 4.0.The goal is to determine, within the framework of the global financial system, innovative forms of investment in the development of environmental projects, based on the principles of the implementation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In particular, the author considers such instruments for financing environmental programs and projects as Green Loans (GK), Green Private Equity Funds (GPE), Venture Investment Funds (GVC), Green ETF Exchange Traded Funds (GETF), Green Unit Investment Funds (GPIF), Green Banks (GB), Green Insurance (GI), Green Public–Private Partnership (GGPP), Green Bonds (Bonds) (GBonds). At the same time, special attention is paid to the Green Bonds, the use of which began only in 2007, and it is proved that their development is marked by extremely high growth rates and that they have very favorable prospects in the future. At the same time, the vulnerability of this financial instrument in due to its insufficient development, especially in terms of control over the use of funds received as a result of issuing green bonds. It is concluded that not only international financial institutions, but also private companies, by pooling their financial efforts, are able to actively contribute to technological progress in the development of environmental protection projects in close connection with the implementation of the Industry 4.0 strategy.
