Abstract

In the face of complex social and environmental challenges, social finance is gaining the interest of private and public entities as a means to redefine our understanding of value. In this context, social finance is an umbrella term for practices that aim to create positive social, cultural, and even environmental externalities, many of which can be considered social innovations. Through the redirection of capital, innovation in social finance is the catalyst for greater societal creativity. This edited collection explores such innovation through a wide range of contributions from both practitioners and scholars. The collection reveals how disruptive social finance innovation has the capacity to redefine both mainstream finance and value creation beyond the fiscal dimension.
