Abstract

In this chapter, the focus is on Step 2: Co-Create a Shared Vision and Objectives. The parties need to sit down and discuss what they want to achieve together. The shared vision and strategic objectives can be as big or small as the parties desire. Formulating the shared vision and strategic objectives is first and foremost an alignment exercise. As such, co-creating that shared vision and common strategic objectives for the partnership are ideally straightforward; the parties must sit down and discuss what they want to achieve together, both long term and short term, and at both a high level and a low level. The focus is not on the first party nor the second party, but on the collaborative enterprise between the parties. This chapter provides proven tips and tools for moving through this step of the process.
