Abstract

If you’re like me, you just might have a weakness for late night TV. Thanks to this vaulted institution, I’ve managed to acquire a blanket with sleeves, a nose-hair trimmer with a built-in light, and a vacuum-cleaner attachment that cuts hair. And while my next book very well may devote its pages to extolling the virtues of late night infomercial shopping, there is a darker, more insidious side to this pursuit. Sure, there’s no denying the myriad lifestyle enhancements associated with these products but, when the products are financial in nature, buyer beware.
