Abstract

Usually, the environmental models, regardless of the chosen implementation environment, are designed to run on a single computer. This means that all objects (in case of object-oriented languages) or variables (in case of traditional programming languages) reside in the same machine and share the same address space. This way of developing software is called local computing [99]. In recent years, the number of applications that use parts or elements residing on different computers has increased considerably. This way of developing software is referred to as distributed computing [99]. There are several advantages to distributed computing.
