Abstract

We have seen in earlier chapters that between the two extreme formats of cricket, T20 does not have much damaging effect on test matches. From the players’ perspective, T20 franchise-based leagues are important for a lucrative and lengthy career; however, successful test players generally enjoy more success in T20. There is already a healthy fan base for each of the three international formats of cricket; but if we can attract the youngsters towards test matches and the older generation towards the T20 format with ODI being already balanced, there is a potential for a substantial gain in the fan count.
