Abstract

The outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic has a great impact on the development of tourism, which also leads to the change of tourist structure in some tourist destinations. For example, Macao has had a large share of non-overnight tourists in the past, especially for mainland Chinese tourists. But with the impact of the pandemic on inbound and outbound travel, more tourists are opting to stay overnight and extend their staying time in Macao. Therefore, overnight tourists were more likely to show an attitude (Were they satisfied with the destination?), and they are more likely to bring in the identity of local residents and show some citizenship behaviors. This chapter explores (1) whether there is a difference in multidimensional perceived value between overnight tourists and non-overnight tourists; (2) the relationship between perceived value, tourist satisfaction and citizenship behavior; and (3) whether overnight tourists and non-overnight tourists have different impacts on tourist satisfaction and citizenship behavior. Partial least squares structural equation modeling method was utilized to test the research hypothesis; SmartPLS was utilized to analyze the data later.
