Abstract

This paper wants to highlight the way in which clusters are the trigger element for economic and regional development in a country. From the viewpoint of this regional analysis, we can say that the northwest region of Romania is a pole of competitiveness in various fields of activity, the most developed being IT, with two clusters in the field, followed by the furniture sector, farming, and green energy. We can say that the economic approach of the country integrated with the European Union’s strategies and the specialized human resource makes it possible to promote as many organizations as possible to be part of these networks, to specialize, to perform towards new European standards, adding value to the whole activities carried out by them. We mean to highlight the most conclusive means of cluster competitiveness by applying research methodologies and multi-criteria analysis at the level of the organizations involved in this research. The article argues that cluster development at the regional level has benefits not only for the business, academic environment and the institutional environment but also for the community as a whole.
