Gamification in Management Education

Abstract

Generation Z is widely considered to be unfocused and rarely paying attention, especially in the classroom environment during a typical frontline teaching style at the university. This paper argues that by innovating frontline teaching of management with the tools of gamification, the experience changes so widely that students’ motivation increase, as well as their interest in the subject. Using qualitative methods interviewing students of management, it is arguably one of the best approaches that they have encountered during their studies. The attendance at the lecture theatre more than doubled and it is considered to be a great motivational tool as well.
