Abstract

Multicriteria problems are present in several contexts and are often complex. To support the decision maker, decision support systems (DSS) have been developed. FITradeoff is a DSS focused on multicriteria additive problems and has a flexible and interactive approach. This study aimed to investigate how engagement and cognitive load is evoked during the use of DSS for different types of problems. It is a work in progress that seeks to raise hypotheses to be tested to promote changes in the DSS and generate recommendations for the decision analyst to make the experience with DSS and the whole decision-making process more efficient and effective.
