Abstract

Nowadays economic, marketing, and environment legislation are increasingly driving firms to consider product reuse, thus active acquisition of used products is prevailing in industry. This chapter focuses on the problem regarding the active acquisition and remanufacturing within supply chain scope. We introduce some recent and important research developments, including the centralized system problem with price-sensitive acquisition and demand, the decentralized supply chain problem with vertical channels, and the decentralized supply chain problem with horizontal competition. For each problem, analytical models are presented and main results are elucidated. Finally, further research directions are also pointed out.
