Abstract

The COVID-19COVID-19 pandemicPandemic has had a profound impact on the education sectorEducation sector worldwide, leading to the rapid developmentDevelopment and adoption of online educationOnline education. This article examines the specific context of online education in Iran during the pandemic, exploring its opportunitiesOpportunities, challengesChallenges, and potential for long-term development. Through a comprehensive review of literature, interviews, and surveys, this study sheds light on key themes such as access to technologyTechnology, teacher preparedness, student engagement, and the influence of socioeconomic factors. The findings reveal the need for addressing challengesChallenges such as limited internetInternet connectivity and the digital divide, while capitalizing on opportunities such as government initiatives and technological advancements. A theoretical model for online educationOnline education in Iran is proposed using the grounded theory method, offering insights into the interconnected elements and strategiesStrategies for effective implementation. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of continued collaborationCollaboration, innovationInnovation, and research to maximize the benefits of online education in Iran and ensure inclusive and quality educationQuality education for all learners.
