They balance environmental concerns by promoting renewable energy sources, setting emissions and waste management standards and enforcing environmental regulations. Balancing the interests of industry players by promoting fair competition, ensuring legal compliance and facilitating dialogue between them and regulators. Limited resources, poor enforcement and lack of political will are the major challenges facing energy regulators in Africa's energy transition.
