Abstract

It is well known that the regulatory framework has paramount importance for the efficient functioning of the finance industry. The rationale behind financial regulation is to prevent market failures which would hamper the flow of funds to the most efficient investment opportunities. Nearly all actors in the financial industry (institutions, markets and issuers) are subject to regulation.
