Abstract

An important development in recent years has been the increasing interest in the evolution of multinational corporations (MNCs). Rather than examining questions of MNC strategy and structure in a cross-sectional fashion, a number of scholars have focused their attention on the developmental trajectory by which firms undertake foreign investment, configure their world-wide activities, and achieve coordination among them.
