Abstract

It is not possible to forecast the exact shape and outcome of any economic process — especially over a 15-year period. For the world becomes ever more complex, as the multitude of forces that can potentially combine together become ever more great and diverse. However, what it is possible is to sketch the broad trends. Events taking place today are set on a trend that will not drastically change over the coming decade, especially if the short-term platform that we use to project trends has become firmly established. The weight of change behind these forces means that they have momentum that will carry them forward.
