Abstract

Much of scientific knowledge may be formulated as a relationship between two or more measurements. The search for broad regularities in variables is one of the main streams of both physical and social science. The methods by which one discovers and charts these relationships are the main tools of econometrics. This chapter will consider them in some detail.
