Abstract

It was a beautiful afternoon and an idyllic setting. Spring was reflected everywhere as the sunlight bounced off the waters of the Dee. The linear park along the Wirral bank of the river was a haven of tranquillity. I fiddled with the tuning button on my tiny portable radio to find the local station. Suddenly it was there — right in my ear. ‘The game at Hillsborough has been stopped. People are spilling on to the pitch behind the Liverpool goal... ‘.
