Systems Dependency

Abstract

Companies do not suddenly become dependent upon computer systems. The realisation that they are is sudden, but the growth of dependency is a hidden process that has been going on for some time. The realisation of dependency usually occurs when some part of the computer system fails. Until this happens the systems upon which the company depends have been taken for granted.
