Abstract

The clinking of coins in your pocket and the rustling of notes as you take them from your wallet. Metal shining like gold and the refined security features of the banknotes, vouching for a value on which you can always rely. But then you find yourself in a different place, or at a different time, and you suddenly have to familiarize yourself with new symbols and denominations. Instead of the familiar krona to which you have grown so accustomed, you curiously weigh this unknown currency in your hand. The visual design confidently communicates the entity safeguarding its value. Every coin and every banknote signals both its denomination and the issuing country.
