Abstract

BENETECH IS SILICON VALLEY’S NONPROFIT software company. Our team builds products to meet the needs of the social sector, products that the for-profit world would fail to build because they would be insufficiently profitable. In most cases, the basic technology already exists and can be easily adapted for social good. And, once built, it’s easy to scale up technology to help huge numbers of people inexpensively. Benetech focuses our efforts in three specific areas where we think we can make a big difference with software: human rights, the environment, and education.
