Abstract

Throughout the history of conflict there have been examples of individuals who have seized the initiative and delivered victory from the jaws of defeat. These individual inspirational moments are a far cry from the deliberate identification, refinement, and adoption of a military doctrine that embraces empowered decision making in order to repeat this historical phenomenon for success.
