In: The ‘Green Revolution’ and Economic Development

Abstract

The present study considered the extent to which the ‘Green Revolution’ has been effective in Bangladesh; by (1) increasing the growth rates of output and yield; (2) ameliorating inequality and poverty; (3) moderating fluctuations in production and yield; and (4) providing a sustainable basis of agricultural production. In examining these social and economic aspects of technological change in Bangladeshi agriculture, the present study employed both primary and secondary data.
